PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave generator which can be conveniently used to break a barrier layer or make a penetration of skin nutritive ingredients into the intradermal tissue, and also, can be miniaturized, as well as a cosmetic appliance equipped with the ultrasonic wave generator. SOLUTION: This utrasonic wave generator includes an ultrasonic vibration part 4 of such a construction that it has a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators 5 of different sizes, large and small and a horn 6 for propagating ultrasonic wave to a skin care area A, using one end face as an ultrasonic emission face 7. Further, the ultrasonic vibration part 4 has the ultrasonic vibrators 5 fixed without superposing the ultrasonic vibrators 5, on the back of the ultrsonic emission face 7 of the horn 6. In addition, the utrasonic wave generator uses a drive mode for a drive circuit 3 which vibrates the ultrasonic vibration part 4, a sharp stimulant mode for vibrating a small-size ultrasonic vibrator 5a, and a dull stimulant mode for vibrating a large-size ultrasonic vibrator 5b.
