PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for controlling a cooling fan cooling a fusing unit of an image forming unit are provided to drive a cooling fan with high efficiency by minimizing driving of the cooling fan at an unnecessary driving time point of the cooling fan. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling a cooling fan cooling a fusing unit of an image forming unit comprises the following steps. It is determined whether the fusing unit is on or off(700). If the fusing unit is on, it is determined whether on/off conditions of the cooling fan are satisfied(710). If the on/off conditions of the cooling fan are satisfied, the cooling fan is turned on/off(720). |
