<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light-emitting device for a large sized thinned liquid crystal display in which occurrence of gaps between a plurality of light guide bodies arranged in parallel on a plane can be prevented and light emission unevenness can be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The surface light-emitting device includes a plate-shaped light guide 4 having a light source 7 and an installation part 6 to install the light source 7. The light guide 4 is formed to be converged into a wedge shape toward the installation part 6, and also an emitting part 8 is formed to emit light irradiated from the light source 7 to one side face of the light guide 4 toward the intersecting direction against the irradiating direction in a surface-shape. A plurality of light guides 4 are arranged in parallel so that peripheral edges 4a, 4b to form the wedge shapes are abutted with each other, thereby a plurality of emitting parts 8 form a single emitting face 12. The plurality of light guide bodies 4 are arranged in parallel, and also the installing part 6 of each integrally formed light guide 4 includes a light-emitting unit 2 with the light source 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
