<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device and electronic equipment with high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: By forming a sealing material in a concave shape at least with respect to the outer face of a second substrate in a cross-sectional view, a space is formed at least between the outer face of the second substrate and the sealing material. This space maintains a margin for expansion of the sealing material if drastic temperature changes occur. By securing the margin, at least damages in the second substrate or peeling of the sealing material from at least the second substrate can be avoided even when the sealing material expands. Thereby, an electrophoretic display device having little probability of damages even in an environment with severe temperature changes and having excellent reliability can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
