<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which effectively prevents crossleakage phenomenon between a polymer electrolyte membrane and a frame body from occurring, and to obtain high yield in its manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell has a plurality of laminated unit cells, where the unit cell is constituted of electrode layers arranged on both surfaces of the polymer electrolyte membrane, and the electrode layer is sandwiched by a pair of separators, a frame body for sandwiching the periphery of the polymer electrolyte membrane has a concavo-convex structure, along the periphery of the polymer electrolyte membrane, where convex portions of the frame body are arranged, at a place facing the concave portions of the frame body via the polymer electrolyte membrane, and elastomer members are arranged at concave portions of the frame body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
