PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of simultaneously forming a spacer and a rib body excellent in pattern accuracy, toughness and the like. SOLUTION: This image forming method employs, under the state substantially including no solvent after being dried, (A) a monomer, which has at least 2 kinds of curable functional groups different from each other in reactivity in a same molecule under the condition that at least one between the curable functional groups is anα,β-unsaturated ester group, and (B) a composition, which includes surface active agent and the viscosity of which lies in the range of 3-50 mPa. Further, this image forming method includes the following (1)-(6) processes: (1) a process for providing a photosensitive resin layer made of the composition on a board, (2) a process for executing heat treatment at 50-150°C in order to remove solvent, when necessary, (3) a process for contactingly press bonding the uneven surfaces of a mold having at least 2 kinds of uneven surfaces different from each other in shape, (4) a process for irradiating light over the photosensitive resin layer, (5) a process for separating the mold with the uneven surfaces from the photosensitive resin layer and (6) a process for executing heat treatment at 160-250°C to the photosensitive resin layer separated from the mold with the uneven surfaces, when necessary.
