PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sloshing overflow preventing device which does not decrease its utilization efficiency even if it is applied to a storage tank that has contents inside a used fuel pool and the like and can also effectively restrain a rising liquid flow along the inner wall at an earthquake. SOLUTION: The sloshing overflow preventing device is mounted on the inner wall 2 of the storage tank 1 for a liquid to prevent it from overflowing on sloshing. The device is composed of flat-shaped resisting members 10 which are placed between a horizontal position below a liquid level 5a in the storage tank 1 and a position with an acute angle between it and the inner wall 2 around bearing axes 11 placed on the side of the inner wall 2 so that the members 10 can turn freely and turning toward the position adjacent to the inner wall 2 by their self-weights, first stoppers 15 which block the turn of the resisting members 10 above the horizontal position, and second stoppers 16 which block the turn below the position with the acute angle between it and the inner wall 2 of the resisting members 10.
