PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip hood for endoscopes and an endoscope unit having the same allowing an operator to easily observe the inner-side face of a recessed/projecting portion of a test object by an endoscope and capable of preventing the injuring of the test object when inserting/pulling out an insertion section of the endoscope with respect to the narrow tubular site, even if examining the recessed/projecting and narrow tubular site such as the intestine by the endoscope. SOLUTION: This tip hood for the endoscopes which is mounted to the distal end of the insertion section of the endoscope which is disposed with an observation window for capturing the image of the test object, is provided with a substantially tubular and transparent cap section, a fixing section formed at the cap section and fixing the cap section to the distal end of the insertion section, and a lid body openably/closably attached to the distal end of the cap section and changing the transmission state of the light.
