摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition for a substrate, whereby a FPD substrate, particularly capable of having excellent weather resistance and of being produced with high productivity while ensuring characteristics and quality as a PDP substrate, can be obtained. SOLUTION: The glass composition includes, as a glass matrix composition, 55-75% of SiO<SB>2</SB>, 5-15% of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 1-4% of MgO, 6-9% of CaO, 5-9% of SrO, 0-7% of BaO, 0.5-6% of ZrO<SB>2</SB>, 0-10% of Na<SB>2</SB>O and 0-15% of K<SB>2</SB>O, in terms of mass% of an oxide, wherein Na<SB>2</SB>O+K<SB>2</SB>O is 6-20%, MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO is 17-25%, and CaO+SrO is≥11% and <15%, the glass transition point is 600°C or higher, and the average thermal expansion coefficient at 50-350°C is 75×10<SP>-7</SP>-90×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C. On the surface of the glass plate being kept for 20 hours at 60°C and a humidity of 90%, at atmospheric pressure, the number of adhesive materials having a size of 10μm or more is 1,000/cm<SP>2</SP>or smaller, and the amount of an eluted substance of alkali components is at most 130 ng/cm<SP>2</SP>.
