PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine room-less elevator facilitating maintenance and inspection work in the vicinity of a top in a hoistway by an inexpensive structure. SOLUTION: A car 10 and a counterweight 18 are liftably arranged in the hoistway 14 of the elevator 1. A car sheave beam 42 having car sheaves 36R, 36L wound with a main rope 22 and arranged at both ends is spatially fixed above the ceiling of the car 10. A working bench 2 as a scaffold when performing maintenance and inspection work for a hoisting machine 30 is attached to the upper surface of the car sheave beam 42. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
