The invention relates to an integrated circuit card comprising a processing unit (3) associated with a read only memory ROM (4) and a programmable read only memory (5), the ROM read only memory containing an operating program which is executable by the processing unit and which comprises functional parts each defining a function of the processing unit. In accordance with the invention, the program comprises an entry/exit point for each functional part and an identifier is associated with each functional part, in that the programmable read only memory contains at least one functional part substitutable for one of the functional parts of the ROM read only memory and associated with an identifier corresponding to that of the corresponding functional part of the ROM read only memory, and in that the processing unit is arranged so as to execute the substitutable functional part in place of the corresponding functional part of the ROM read only memory.
