PURPOSE: A system for converting a character according to an input mode and a method thereof are provided to recognize whether an inputted character is inputted through an input mode different from the current set input mode. CONSTITUTION: A character converting method comprises the following steps of: converting an inputted character string according to one or more language input modes(S210); extracting the probability information of the converted character string(S220); and selecting one among converted character strings based on the extracted probability information(S230).
