PURPOSE: A helmet for providing a function of automatically connecting an emergent call and a method thereof are provided to inform of the position of a user, accurately, by requesting the transmission of a message which includes information collected from a GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver mounted in the helmet when an emergency occurs. CONSTITUTION: A helmet(100) for providing a function of automatically connecting an emergent call comprises a sensor unit(120) and a wireless communication unit(110). The sensor unit senses a reaction value to an outside stimulus of the helmet. The wireless communication unit determines an emergency based on the sensed reaction value, and requests the message transmission or voice call connection to some of a preset phone number group.
