A light pipe assembly (100) includes a lamp assembly (104) and a light pipe (102). The lamp assembly (104) has a housing (108) that holds a light source (106) configured to emit light. The light pipe (102) is elongated between an attachment end (112) and a distal end (114). The attachment end (112) is received in the housing (108) of the lamp assembly (104). The light pipe (102) receives light emitted by the light source (106). Additionally, the light pipe (102) includes surface elements (118) that are configured to permit the light to emanate from the light pipe between the attachment and distal ends. The surface elements (118) are arranged in a pattern that provides a predetermined distribution of light emanating from the light pipe.
