<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image corresponding to the printing area of set (placed) media, without minding the alignment of the media, in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a radio IC tag reader part, an information obtaining means, an actual tag position specifying means, a reference position specifying means, an angle calculating means, and an image forming means, when a radio IC tag on which information on the printing area of the media is recorded is provided in the media. The radio IC tag reader part reads out the information recorded on the radio IC tag. The information obtaining means obtains the information from the radio IC tag. The actual tag position specifying means specifies the actual position of the radio IC tag. The reference position specifying means specifies the reference position of the media. The angle calculating means calculates a rotation angle for making the actual position of the radio IC tag a predetermined position, based on the reference position.
