PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin selector 11 capable of efficiently executing batch processing of a plurality of types of coins. SOLUTION: In a batch processing mode, coins sorted by types by a sorting means are stored in the plurality of return boxes 18, and the plurality of types of coins are simultaneously batch processed. After the number of a type of coins stored in the plurality of the return boxes 18 reaches a designated number, a feeding and transporting operation of the coins is continued until an identification unit detects types of coins reaching the designated number. When the identification unit detects types of coins reaching the designated number, the feeding and transporting operation of the coins is stopped by stopping coins after the types of coins reached the designated number by a stopping means. The stopped coins are returned to a storing and feeding means by reversing a transporting means, and then the feeding and transporting operation of the coins is restarted to give an opportunity for types of coins other than the types of the coins reached the designated number to be fed from the storing and feeding means.
