PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain motion picture imaging in which it can be easily confirmed whether the action matches beats. SOLUTION: The action such as dance to be performed to music is imaged by a motion picture imaging function of a digital camera 1. At such a time, a beat detection section 213 performs signal processing upon an input sound to detect the start of music and beat portions and record time information in the detection. On the basis of the recorded time information, a data recording section 214 specifies a frame image corresponding to the starting time point of the music and each of beat portions and generates beat information making the beats correspond to the frame image. The generated beat information is added to a motion picture file and stored in an external storage section 260. When playing back the motion picture file to which the beat information is added, on the basis of a correspondence relation between the beats recorded in the beat information and the frame image, a playback processing section 215 performs playback operation interlocked with the beats.
