PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic control device for changing over a friction engaging element supply hydraulic pressure selector valve without providing an exclusive solenoid valve. SOLUTION: The hydraulic control device includes a clutch applying control valve 401 using a linear solenoid (SLP) 201 for changing over supply hydraulic pressure to a travelling friction engaging element of a forward/reverse travel change-over device 3 corresponding to the engaging transient condition and the completely engaging condition of the travelling friction engaging element, a first shift hydraulic control valve 301 to be controlled in the completely engaging condition of the travelling friction engaging element by the linear solenoid (SLP) 201 to output hydraulic pressure to be supplied to a hydraulic actuator 41c of a primary pulley 41 for a belt type continuously variable transmission 3, and a second shift hydraulic control valve 303 to be controlled in the engaging transient condition of the travelling friction engaging element by the linear solenoid (SLP) 201 to output hydraulic pressure to be supplied to the hydraulic actuator 41c.
