PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring device which continues to display a video of a near-infrared camera, reduces a noise in an outputted video and does not give a rough feeling even when a near-infrared projector is turned off. SOLUTION: In the vehicle periphery monitoring device in which a near-infrared projector 10 emits a near-infrared light toward a periphery of a vehicle, a near-infrared camera 20 collects the near-infrared light including a reflected light and a video around the vehicle is output to a display panel 40, the near-infrared projector is turned off and a maximum allowable brightness of the video is changed when the speed of the vehicle is lower than a predetermined value.
