PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metadata attachment method and a device and a metadata attachment program for shortening a processing time. SOLUTION: When text data and an image are input to a server 11, a region extraction part 36 extracts the region belonging to any category in a featured value list table stored in a featured value DB 43, and decides the category of the extracted featured values. A featured value acquisition part 37 obtains the featured values of the region extracted by the region extraction part 36. A keyword extraction part 38 extracts the keyword of the category related with the region extracted by the region extraction part 36 from the text data. A keyword selection part 39 performs access to a text DB 42 and the featured value DB43, and selects the keyword by referring to only the featured values corresponding to the keyword extracted by the keyword extraction part 38.
