PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing gears of various shapes and arrangements flexibly, within a short time, and at low cost, with respect to a gear grinding machine. SOLUTION: The operating method for the gear grinding machine comprises the steps of: machining a workpiece on the gear grinding machine using a grinding disk and/or grinding worm; profiling the grinding disk and/or grinding worm on the gear grinding machine; and dressing the profiling tool on the gear grinding machine.
