A hydrophilic film is provided which has high adhesion to inorganic materials, is safer, has excellent transparency, and reconciles extremely high hydrophilicity with marring resistance. Also provided is a layered product having the hydrophilic film. A specific hydrophilic compound (c) having an acryloyl group and a potassium sulfonate group or the like is applied to a surface of a layer formed from a mixture comprising (a) a silane compound having one silicon atom, a mercapto group or the like, and at least one silicon-bonded group selected from the group consisting of alkoxy, halogen radicals, and hydroxy and (b) a silane compound which has at least four silicon-bonded groups selected from the group consisting of alkoxy, halogen radicals, and hydroxy and has no group reactive with a carbon-carbon double bond. At least part of the acryloyl groups possessed by the hydrophilic compound (c) are reacted with at least part of the mercapto groups derived from the compound (a) to produce the hydrophilic film. |
