摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of upward throughput by a simple configuration even in the case that systems of different bit rates are mixed and accommodated. <P>SOLUTION: In a communication system where an OLT 4, a plurality of ONUs 1-1 to 1-n for performing transmission at 1.25 Gbps and a plurality of ONUs 2-1 to 2-m for performing transmission at 10 Gbps while forming a PON so as to perform two-way communication between the OLT 4 and the ONU 1-1 to 1-n, 2-1 to 2-m, each of the ONUs 1-1 to 1-n, 2-1 to 2-m transmits an optical signal while using wavelengths &lambda;1 and &lambda;2, a splitter 3 is provided for wavelength-multiplexing and outputting to the OLT 4 the optical signal transmitted from an ONU side, and the OLT 4 comprises a WDM filter 5 for wavelength-demultiplexing the wavelength-multiplexed signal outputted from the splitter 3 into optical signals of the wavelengths &lambda;1 and &lambda;2 and outputting the optical signals, and a 1G receiver 6 and a 10G receiver 7 for converting the optical signals of the wavelengths &lambda;1 and &lambda;2 from the WDM filter 5 into electric signals, respectively, and outputting the electric signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
