<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for attaching an end of a wire rod for a fence, and the fence. <P>SOLUTION: In a mesh fence equipped with a fence panel 1 and a support 5 or furring strips 8, a cylindrical spiral connecting portion 4 is formed at the end of the vertical or horizontal wire rod 2 or 3; the spiral connecting portion 4 at the end of the vertical wire rod is formed in such a manner as to be inclined with respect to the axial direction of the furring strips; the cylindrical spiral connecting portion 4 at the end of the horizontal wire rod is formed in such a manner as to be inclined with respect to the axial direction of the support; the support 5 or the furring strips 8 is or are inserted into the outside of the cylindrical spiral connecting portion 4 formed in an inclined manner; and the outside of the cylindrical spiral connecting portion 4 is engaged with the inside surface of the support 5 or the furring strips 8 in a pushing manner so as to prevent the spiral connecting portion 4 from wobbling with respect to the support 5 or the furring strips 8 and make the cylindrical connecting portion 4 connected to the furring strips 8 or the support 5.
