METHOD OF MANUFACTURING EROSION PROTECTION LAYER AND COMPONENT WITH THIS EROSION PROTECTION LAYER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an erosion protection layer on a metallic substrate.

SOLUTION: An erosion protection material is welded on the metallic substrate 2. The materials is a steel containing at least 0.1% C and 12% chromium. The material is applied to the substrate 2 by laser deposition welding. In this way, the component 1 having the metallic substrate 2 and an erosion protection layer 3 applied to the metallic substrate 2 can be manufactured.
