<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting an actual current applied to a coil of a motor based on only the current inflow rate from a power supply in a bridge drive circuit of the motor. <P>SOLUTION: The actual current of the motor is determined from the current inflow rate from the power supply more correctly by considering the effects of a reverse electromotive voltage generated in the motor and of a circuit element such as inductance. In this way, the heat generation amount of the motor can be more correctly determined.
