<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information equipment control device, a driver update system, a driver update method and a driver program, for managing the driver of information equipment to a desired version. <P>SOLUTION: In updating the version of a printer driver, a connection destination selection screen 110 including a choice 111 with the external server of a printer maker as the destination of connection in which a driver program of the latest version is stored and a choice 112 with a local server as the destination of connection in which a driver program of the version whose update permission has been received is displayed. When the choice 111 is selected, the driver program is acquired from the external server, and the installed printer driver is updated to the latest version by the driver program.
