PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel support device enabling early arrival to a destination. SOLUTION: This travel support device includes an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and an actuator. A plurality of course candidates S are obtained by the ECU, and the course candidates S are made discrete into a plurality of position candidates P1-Pk, and each sum total distance from the position candidates P1-Pk to the destination is calculated, and a course candidate having the shortest calculated sum total distance is selected from among the plurality of course candidates S. Consequently, according to the travel support device, a plurality of positions on the course candidates S are taken into consideration when evaluating the course candidates S, and a vehicle can approach the destination T in a short time. Resultantly, for example, even if a course candidate S is updated before the vehicle arrives at the end point Pk of the course candidate S, the vehicle is prevented from progressing little toward the destination.
