PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a charging method of reducing the voltage for constant-voltage charging at high temperature and avoiding full charging, in which when voltage for constant-voltage charging is reduced, a charging capacity is reduced. SOLUTION: In the charging method, the temperature of a secondary battery is detected; and when the temperature is high, voltage for constant-voltage charging is reduced to avoid full charging. Charging current is reduced at a temperature which is lower than the temperature, predetermined in this method, at which voltage for constant-voltage charging is reduced. Thus temperature rise in the secondary battery is suppressed, and the voltage value for constant-voltage charging is prevented from being reduced. This makes it possible to prevent reduction in the charging capacity and charge a battery in an optical temperature range optimal therefor, in a short time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
