PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility that a bumper core is detached from a reinforcement during the travel of a vehicle body or due to the self weight of the vehicle body. SOLUTION: In a bumper core 1, a projection 11 or a hole 15 to be fitted to a reinforcement 20 is formed in a back side of a body 10, and a receiving piece 12 to be received by an upper end of the reinforcement 20 is projected toward the reinforcement 20 from the body 10. A reinforcing piece 13 substantially parallel to the receiving piece 12 is projected from a lower end of the body 10. The receiving piece 12 and the reinforcing piece 13 extend substantially orthogonal to the back side of the body 10. A bumper 2 is constituted by fitting the bumper core 1 formed of a synthetic resin foam to the reinforcement 20 fitted to the vehicle body, and covering it by a skin 21 consisting of a formed part.
