<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make accurate authentication possible regardless of variation of degree of coincidence with a vein pattern dictionary due to change of the living vein of a user or the variation of the degree of the coincidence due to life of the authentication device part. <P>SOLUTION: At every authentication by the personal authentication device, the authentication result is saved in a preservation means as historical information, based on the historical information saved by the preservation means, the degree of the coincidence with the vein pattern dictionary, exposure conditions, and the like, are outputted and displayed in time-series.
