PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for attaching interphase insulating paper, which suppresses the dislocation of a holding claw for holding the interphase insulating paper and precisely inserts the interphase insulating paper into a prescribed slot. SOLUTION: In the attaching apparatus 10 of interphase insulating paper, a moving-path robot 12 arranges an interphase insulating paper attaching unit 20 on the inner side of a stator core 110, in a state where first to fourth holding claw units 21 to 24 hold an interphase insulating paper 120. Cylinders 35 and 36 equally operate driving force, parallel to stator outside-diameter directions P and Q on the respective holding claw units 21 to 24. Coupling leg parts 123 and 123 insert the slots 112 and 112 and move them to the back of the slots. The holding claws 40, installed in the first to fourth holding pawl units 21 to 24, are formed in opening states and interphase insulating paper 120 is attached to the stator core 110. The respective holding claw units 21 to 24 are guided along the guide members 31 to 34, which extend in parallel with the stator oustide-diameter directions P and Q and are reinforced.
