PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image processor and an image processing program that make black dot corrections without spoiling tone gradation other than a shadow part. SOLUTION: A black dot J<SB>SB</SB>in a display color gamut and a black dot J<SB>DB</SB>in a printer color gamut at a predetermined hue in a predetermined equipment dependent color space are detected and compared with each other to find size relation; when the black dot J<SB>DB</SB>is larger than the black dot J<SB>SB</SB>, a peak value J<SB>1</SB>of the display color gamut is detected and a compression destination area is set on a side of luminances lower than a peak value J<SB>1</SB>in a printer color gamut. Then a compression source area comprising an area of gradations lower than the black dot J<SB>DB</SB>in the display color gamut and the compression destination area is compressed for the compression destination area, correspondence relation between the display color gamut and printer color gamut after the compression is defined by a predetermined algorithm, and first color image data are converted into second color image data based upon the correspondence relation.
