PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic type operation switch which can detect turning operation and touch operation in an operation section, and to provide a cock device which can prevent malfunction because of water drop or the like. SOLUTION: The electrostatic capacity type operation switch includes: a turning electrode provided in a turning operation section; a detection electrode provided in a main unit; a touch electrode which is provided adjacent to the turning operation section and is electrically coupled with the detection electrode; a shield electrode which is electrostatically coupled with at least a part of the detection electrode and the touch electrode facing it; and a switching circuit which switches shield potential same as that of the detection electrode and ground potential to apply it to the shield electrode. Thus, according to the displacement in the turning operation section to the main unit, an opposing area between the turning electrode and the detection electrode changes, and when shield potential is applied to the shield electrode, a contact with the turning operation section is detected, and when ground potential is applied to the shield electrode, the turning condition of the turning operation section is detected.
