PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance volume efficiency and compression efficiency by suppressing the heating of a coolant passing through a suction passage without adding separate members. SOLUTION: Heat transmission suppressing spaces S1, S2, S3 are respectively provided with a part situated between a front head 32 and front cylinder 33 and corresponding to a part of a suction passage 33d, a part situated between the front cylinder 33 and rear cylinder 36 and corresponding to a part of the suction passages 33d, 36d, and a part situated between a rear cylinder 36 and rear head 38 and corresponding to a part of the suction passage 36d.
