The manifold body (12) contains a first fluid channel (14) with inlet- and outlet openings. Edges (18) are formed where a second fluid channel (16) intersects the first at a common location (A). This intersection lies hydraulically between the inlet- and outlet openings. A forming object (30) is introduced into the first channel (14). It passes freely along the first channel, but blocks the second channel hydraulically at the intersection. Fluid is introduced into the first channel. Pressures (P1, P2) are applied to its ends. These propel the object (30) to the intersection. Under pressure, the object shapes the edges (18) of the intersection. It is then removed from the body (12). The two pressures (P1, P2) are equal. Pressure is applied to the openings repeatedly, with interruptions at intervals. The forming object is ellipsoidal or spherical.
