The element has an area luminous source placed at side of a translucent external unit. The unit has a porous ply (28) such as tissue and leather perforated plies, arranged at visible side, and a spacer scattering layer e.g. translucent foam layer (26). The source is adjacent to the unit, and has low thickness in direction of stacking of the source and the unit. The source has a transparent plate (10) with a diffusing zone (18) at its surface more far from the unit. Diffusion degree of the diffusing zone varies according to distance of an LED (20) of the source.
