<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the accuracy of an image recording process performed on a sheet material by preventing excessive conveyance of sheet material caused by a difference between the first amount of conveyance by a first conveying roller and the second amount of conveyance by a second conveying roller when the rear end of the sheet material gets out of the first conveying roller. <P>SOLUTION: A first correction value P related to the conveying roller 87 and a second correction value Q related to a discharge roller 90 are stored in an EEPROM 104. Firstly, a difference P-Q between the correction values is determined (S2), a parameter R is calculated (S3), and the amount of excessive conveyance A corresponding to the parameter R is acquired from table data (S4). When the next amount of conveyance F is smaller than the remaining amount of conveyance L, it is predicted that the rear end of the recording paper sheet gets out of a pair of conveying rollers 89 during the next conveyance. Therefore, during the next conveyance, the recording paper sheet is conveyed by the amount F-A with the amount of excessive conveyance A subtracted from the amount of conveyance F.
