PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a changeover position of a changeover switch while reducing a useless power consumption of a microcomputer. SOLUTION: In the electronic device, a microcomputer 2 determines a changeover position of a changeover switch 1. The microcomputer 2 includes a driving terminal 6 which is changed over from a sleep status to a working status by an input signal which is changed over between "High" and "Low". The changeover switch 1 is a sliding switch 1A and includes: a movable contact point 3 connected with a grounding line 5; and a plurality of fixed contact points 4 having a first fixed contact point 4A not connected with the driving terminal 5 and a second fixed contact point 4B connected with the driving terminal 6. The second fixed contact point 4B is connected with a power source circuit 8 and inputs a "High" signal to the driving terminal 6 in a non-contact status with the movable contact point 3. When the movable contact 3 is switched over from the first fixed contact 4A to the second fixed contact 4B, the microcomputer 2 is switched over from the sleep state to the working state and the changeover positions of the changeover switch 1 is detected from the voltage signal input.
