<p>Disclosed is a wheel bearing that can alleviate the abrupt slippage that occurs between the staked part and the shoulder part of the outer joint member and that can prevent the generation of stick-slip noise. In a wheel bearing device wherein an outer joint member (14) is coupled in a freely detachable manner in the axial direction and in a torque transferable manner via serrations to a hub ring (2) on which an inner ring (3) is affixed by a staked part (6), a cap (17) formed by means of pressing from sheet steel is mounted on the staked part (6). Said cap (17) is equipped with a disk-shaped contact part (17a), a cylindrical part (17b) that extends in the axial direction from the outer diameter part of said contact part (17a), and a fastening part (17c) that projects inwards in the radial direction from the end part of said cylindrical part (17b) and the inner diameter of which is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of staked part (6). A low-friction film (19) is also formed by means of penetrating diffusion plating of molybdenum disulfide on the surface of said cap (17).</p> |
