PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a milling tool which is more suitable than a conventional milling tool for approximately right-angled cutting of a material to be cut (90°shoulder cutting) by using four corners of an approximately rectangular cutting insert. SOLUTION: Since the cutting insert is attached to a tool holder so as not to allow a connection part to come into contact with the material to be cut when cutting, a pressure applied to a cutting edge when cutting is limited to a thin area. Thus, defects at the connection part can be prevented. This enables stable right-angled cutting (90°shoulder cutting). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
