PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for use in tire treads which provides the high resistance to abrasion, the high resistance to blowout, and the high gripping performance over a wide range of temperatures. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for use in tire treads, includes (A) 100 parts by weight of a diene-based rubber which contains 65 parts by weight or more of a styrene-butadiene rubber having a glass transition temperature in the range of -40°C to -25°C, (B) 50-130 parts by weight of a carbon black having a nitrogen-adsorption specific surface area of 250 m<SP>2</SP>/g or more and having a cetyltrimetylammonium bromide-adsorption specific surface area of 200 m<SP>2</SP>/g or more, (C) 10-40 parts by weight of an aromatic-modified terpene resin having a softening point of above 80°C to below 120°C and (D) 5-30 parts by weight of a plasticizer.
