A liquid crystal display device, a display system and a method for recognizing a shape of an object using the liquid crystal display device are provided to supply an easy and convenient interface between a user and the display device. A liquid crystal display device(11) comprises a liquid crystal panel(400), the first light source, the first diffusing member(620), the second light source, and a sensor. The liquid crystal panel displays an image. The first light source is arranged in a lower part of the liquid crystal panel to provide light to the liquid crystal panel. The first diffusing member is arranged between the liquid crystal panel and the first light source to make luminance of the light uniform. The second light source is arranged in a lower part of the liquid crystal panel. The sensor is positioned in the lower part of the liquid crystal panel or within the liquid crystal panel.
