<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a cartridge which can be fixed to an image forming device, can prevent incorrect fixing by a user, and is hardly imitated by a third party. <P>SOLUTION: The cartridge, which can be fixed to the main part of the image forming device, comprises an identification part including: an engagement member having a second engagement part making a pair with a first engagement part provided to the main part; a storage means for storing the data for identification from the other type of cartridge; and a connection terminal for connecting a signal line for transmitting the data to the main part with a signal terminal provided to the main part. The second engagement part has a different shape according to the type of cartridge and has a shape to engage only the ones regarding the type of cartridge to be fixed with the first engagement part. The connection terminal is arranged to a different position according to the type of cartridge, and only the ones regarding the type of cartridge to be fixed are arranged to a position corresponding to the signal terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
