PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation information computing device can detect abnormality of magnetic detection signals of magnetic detectors of three phases and continuing to compute rotation information with accuracy even after the occurrence of abnormality when magnetic detection signals of two phases out of three phases are normal. SOLUTION: Sampling values a, b, c of the magnetic detection signals of three phases are obtained, and a rotation angle position to each phase is computed based on the obtained sampling values. Abnormality of the sampling value of each phase is detected based on the computed rotation angle position, and when abnormality is detected only in the sampling value of one phase, an abnormality detection flag is output, and the rotation angle position is computed based on the sampling values of the two remaining phases. When abnormality of the sampling values of two or more phases is detected, the operation of the rotation information computing device is stopped, and an average value of the rotation angle positions computed based on the sampling values of normal phases is computed as the rotation angle position for output.
