PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slider capable of stably surfacing and flying over a disk by suppressing deposition or sticking of foreign objects on a surface. SOLUTION: The slider includes a topography that includes an ABS 30 facing a lubricated surface of a rotatable magnetic disk. The topography includes a center rail 330 extending in the rotational direction of the magnetic disk, a pair of side rails 325 extending in parallel sandwiching the center rail, a pair of grooves 320 each of which is positioned between the center rail 330 and the side rail 325, has an opening to expose in a trailing edge surface 10 and extends from the openings to the midway to a leading edge surface 20, and trapezoidal pads 340 each of which is disposed in a position where one end surface of the inner portion of the groove 320 is exposed to the trailing edge surface 10.
