PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prepare a small number of sets of prints of different glosses in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming means for forming an image on a medium; a transparent UV ink droplet ejecting means for ejecting transparent UV ink droplet onto the recording medium; a UV light irradiation means for irradiating the transparent UV ink droplet ejected on the recording medium with UV light; a gloss condition setting means for setting gloss conditions for the image; and a UV light irradiation control means for controlling the timing of irradiation of UV light from the UV light irradiation means according to the gloss conditions.
