A panel operating apparatus and method for digital electrophoresis-typed display is provided to reduce the time of testing production by not controlling variable resistance. The panel drive unit of the digital type electrophoresis type display comprises the panel drive memory device(24) and connecting circuit. The panel drive memory device is arranged on the panel(2) of the electrophoresis type display. The connecting circuit connects electrically the panel drive memory device. The controller chip reads panel drive in storage device data via the connecting circuit.
