<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-wheel motor controller that can smoothly start a vehicle on a hill by utilizing the functions of the in-wheel motor. <P>SOLUTION: When the vehicle is started on the hill, a motor command calculation section 34 keeps an in-wheel motor 100 of at least one wheel of the in-wheel motors 100 built in wheels at an electromagnetically locking state, and increases the torque of each of the other in-wheel motors 100. Then, when the increased torque reaches a hill-climbing torque for maintaining the vehicle in an inclined position at a static state, the in-wheel motor 100 in the electromagnetic locking state is released from the locking and the vehicle and starts to run over the hill. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
