<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smelting method for efficiently recovering valuable metals such as copper and lead from a copper-containing dross that is produced in a smelting process of smelting zinc and/or lead. <P>SOLUTION: The method for smelting the copper-containing dross includes: charging the copper-containing dross that contains copper and lead into a melt including a matte and copper alloy of a molten state, which are produced when fuming slag that is produced from a smelting furnace for smelting zinc and/or lead, under the coexistence of copper; and blowing an oxygen-containing gas into the melt.
